This next dress is from Jacqueline Carey’s novel Kushiel’s Dart. There’s not a lot of description for it in the book, so I took a lot of liberties.  Phedre is described as being somberly attired in Delaunay’s colours (brown and gold – sheaf of corn on crest).  So… here is the dress.

The dress has to be worn to court, so even though it is a modest dress, it still has to be a fine one.  Hence the exposed sleeves, gold details and plush fabrics (below).
