Baudoin’s Farewell

October 19, 2008 at 4:34 am (Uncategorized)

Phedre’s dress for Baudoin’s birthday actually comes before this one.  I have had it drawn for a while but recently coloured it.  I’ve decided that it doesn’t really seem like something that Phedre would wear, so I have to redraw.  So, in the meantime, I am skipping ahead to the next dress.

This dress is what Phedre is given to wear by Melisande for her birthday-gifted assignation with Baudoin, which also turns out to be a farewell gift.  It is from page 195 of Kushiel’s Dart.  It is described as a cloth of gold gown and a gold mesh caul with seed pearls.

The design for the dress itself was inspired by Drew Barrymore’s dress in “Ever After” (below)

So, without further adieu, here it is.

Now, here are the fabrics.
